First of all make sure you use a unique name. Lookup the possible name you are thinking about on Spotify and other services. The more unique it is, the better.
As an artist to get started you want to make sure you have the following ready:
- Artist name
- Description about the artist
- A logo and/or cover image
- Links to social media accounts (at least Facebook and Instagram)
- A Soundcloud profile
- If possible a website with your own domain
